MG Motor India expands its network in Chennai; inaugurates new dealership and workshop

Chennai, May 23, 2024: MG (Morris Garages), a 100-year-old automobile brand with a British legacy, strengthens its commitment by inaugurating a new state-of-the-art showroom and workshop in Chennai. The expansion of MG Motor India’s network aligns with its strategic vision to enhance the overall buying and ownership experience. MG Motor India now has 29 touchpoints in Tamil Nadu.

Built over an area of 5,000 sq. ft., the new dealership, MG Chennai Mount Road, shares the overall look and feel of MG India\u2019s futuristic customer approach, which resonates with the preferences of modern, urban car buyers who are tech-savvy and auto enthusiasts. The showroom is accompanied by a 16,000 sq. ft. modern service facility to cater to the requirements of its customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on the inauguration, Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, said, \u201cWe are delighted to expand our network to Tamil Nadu as a part of MG 2.0. As we grow, we are expanding the footprint of the brand to newer territories, ensuring seamless sales and aftersales services to MG customers. We have established over 400 touchpoints across 170 cities in the country. We plan to establish 100 new MG touchpoints this year, specifically catering to Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities. This strategic expansion aims to foster deeper relationships with customers by coming closer to them, allowing them to choose and drive their favourite MG car with peace of mind. It underscores our steadfast dedication to increasing accessibility and delivering superior customer experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on the inauguration, Rajath Kankaria, Dealer Principal, MG Chennai Mount Road, said, \u201cWith MG’s technologically advanced products, customer-centric approach, and understanding of customer needs, we endeavour to provide the best-in-class ownership experience to our customers. We are confident our customers will have a memorable and immersive experience.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the market coverage of 85%, the MG service centres are strategically situated within a 15-kilometer radius, ensuring prompt assistance within 30 minutes. The company aims to establish 100 new touchpoints by the end of the year and achieve a target of more than 500 touchpoints in 275 cities by the end of FY 2024-25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brand-new showroom has been designed under the brand\u2019s \u201cEmotional Dynamism\u201d philosophy, which combines contemporary brand elements and slick colour palettes. On the exterior, the front fascia of MG\u2019s dealerships adopts a unique fa\u00e7ade grill, signifying the confluence of the sky and the earth. Inside, the store perfectly demonstrates the brand\u2019s experience-first approach, which aims to captivate all five senses of its prospective customers through intelligent and creative elements like a big LED configurator wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dealership will showcase our portfolio of products including MG Hector – India\u2019s first Internet SUV, MG ZS EV – India\u2019s first Pure Electric Internet SUV, MG Gloster – India\u2019s first Autonomous (Level 1) Premium SUV, the Astor- India\u2019s first SUV with personal AI assistant and Autonomous (Level 2) technology, and MG Comet \u2013 The Smart Electric Vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
